Willoughby is a suburb on the lower north shore of Sydney, located about 6kms north of the city centre. It is probably most famous for being the home of the Channel Nine TV station. It also was a place where Henry Lawson had his "man cave" - an actual cave where he went to find some peace and quiet when the stress of city living became all too much for him.
Willoughby is home to quite a few very good cafes and pubs, most of which are family friendly. There are also very good playgrounds and bushwalks within the suburb and its proximity to the the CBD of the city and North Sydney make it a favourite place to live with young professional families.
Many Thanks to Wikipedia (and my own local knowledge) for the Geography and History Lesson!
