Last year we made the trek to Wetherill Park to check out the amazing XS Espresso that had the social media world in a spin, due to their incredible mega shakes. Upon departure from the cafe, I was quite relieved that we didn't live close by, as I knew we would be there all the time inhaling their calorific beauties. Unfortunately less than 6 months later, XS Espresso decided to expand their business, and they set up shop less than a ten minute drive from our house, in North Parramatta! And yes we sadly go there too often now, and as a result I've increased the number of stretchy pants that make themselves at home in my wardrobe!
The XS Espresso in North Parramatta can be found in the outdoor Junction Shopping Centre which is on Windsor Road (near the corner of James Ruse Drive). There's plenty of parking available, the cafe is kind of pram friendly, but don't bring a whole tribe of pramsters with you, as there isn't enough space to fit too many around a table. You can choose to sit inside or out, but this cafe is seriously busy most of the time, so arrive early as they don't take bookings. There are a couple of high chairs, and the staff are very friendly and efficient, and are always welcoming of kids.
They serve a strong brew of Campos coffee at XS Espresso, which is perfect to jolt bleary eyed parents awake first thing in the morning (the coffee machine is fired up from 7am each day), and their babycino is a delight - pure froth, chocolate coated and sprinkled with 100s & 1000s. There's also an excellent range of cold pressed juices if you would prefer your little ones to ingest have something healthier.
Obviously they have their range of megashakes available, as well as seriously decadent cronuts. And recently we've discovered their baby gaytime donuts, which are a little burst of deliciousness in the mouth. Everything is presented beautifully, and you can feast on these delights until 10pm each night!
It's not all about the decadent treats at XS Espresso as there's also a savoury menu available, which has heaps of delish choices for both breakfast and lunch (their salads are healthy and seriously tasty, as is their version of avo smash). And the savoury items also receive the same attention to detail with their presentation as the sweet stuff does. There's not a dedicated kids menu here, but there are items that kids will eat such as banana bread and toast for brekkie (which we make the boys have as they drool over the cronut cabinet!). Or perhaps your kidlets could share a meal, such as bacon & eggs, burgers or pasta.
I've also discovered recently that there's actually another XS Espresso located in the heart of Parramatta on Eat Street (Church St), so I'm thinking that their must be an increase in the sale of stretchy pants throughout Parramatta at the moment! So my dear parents, make sure you don't wear your skinny jeans when visiting, and enjoy this decadently delicious cafe x
