Chocolate - a constant in most mother's diets. I believe it's part of the holy trinity of motherhood survival - Coffee, Wine and Chocolate. And for one delicious weekend you will be able to find all three at the smooth Festival of Chocolate. And the best bit for Team Little Munch is that this year the festival has a brand new location. It will now be held at the Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park, which is much closer to home!
For the last few years the festival was held at First Fleet Park at Circular Quay. Whilst the location was spectacular, the space wasn't especially if you had kids in tow. It was soooo crowded which made me nervous when I had the little lads with me. So I believe the move to the showground is a God send as there will be loads more exhibitors, heaps of space for kids to wander around, and the best bit - a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Ferris Wheel! Well the boys and the hubster will love that, I prefer my feet to be firmly on the ground, preferably with a vino in one hand and some chocolate in the other - so you'll find me in the Hope Estate Garden Bar instead!
Some of Little Munch's favourite exhibitors that you can check out at the festival are:
There are heaps of other incredible chocolatiers already signed up to show off their masterful creations and each week more exhibitors are being added to the list, so keep an eye on their website to see who will be there.
To keep our offspring occupied at the festival there will be a special smooth kids area where they can have their face painted; participate in a hands on kids cooking class by Baked by Andres and N2 Extreme Gelato; meet their favourite characters from the small/big screen; the ferris wheel, plus much, much more! All of this is free with the entry price.
COST: Single Day - $55 for 2 adults and up to 3 kids; or $23/adult & $17/kid - kids under 5 are FREE. You also receive a FREE Lindt ball as soon as you walk through the gate! Also for every ticket sold, two meals will be donated to Ozharvest.
GETTING THERE: We suggest taking public transport to the festival. The Olympic Park Train Station is close by and buses let off close by too. Otherwise if you drive the Sydney Olympic carpark costs $5/hour up to a maximum of $25 per day.
