If I don't have to cook on Sunday evening after spending all weekend on the sidelines of my kids rugby, then I won't! So when the lovely folk at Parramatta Leagues Club invited team Little Munch down to taste test their Latin American restaurant Pablo's Cantina y Cerveza, this weary Mumma jumped at the opportunity!
You'll find Pablo's Cantina up on Level 3 of the Club right next door to Kicks - their ten pin bowling and amusement arcade. The restaurant has an outstandingly well priced children's menu which doubles as a colouring sheet. The menu costs $9.90 for Members and $11.00 for Non Members. This price includes the meal + a soft drink + ice cream & topping. Every kidlet's favourite is on there - Cheeseburger & Chips, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Cheese Lover's Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza and lastly Grilled Chicken with Brazilian Rice (rice flavoured with black beans & tomato). The kids meals come out with the entrees, so they aren't left hanging too long to feed their little bellies.
The big people's menu is simply mouthwatering. They use a low and slow method of cooking called the Parilla Grill. Different types of meat are cooked on skewers over natural wood charcoal and the flavours are sensational. We munched on quite a few share plates like their Fried Calamari; Handmade Guacamole with Crispy Corn Tortillas; Nachos with Hickory & Honey Smoked Beef Brisket and Signature Tacos with Chicken Adobo & Slow Cooked Pibil Pork.
Next time we go back (and we will definitely be going back), the men folk of Team Little Munch will try out Pablo's Signature Individual Churrasco & Parilla experience. This is a carnivore's delight. You choose your meat and it comes out on a large skewer accompanied by a dipping sauce. You can also add on some side dishes to meet your daily greens quota!
Pablo's Cantina is fully licensed and has a great selection of cocktails and wines. Beer lovers will also enjoy the ales from Jack's Brewery which is on site (hence the cerveza part of the name). I'm also thinking that Pablo's Cantina would be a great venue for a Mumma's night out as there are set menus available and margaritas!! However, be prepared, Pablo's is only open for lunch and dinner Friday to Sunday.
Whilst you are at the Parramatta Leagues Club make sure you check out Kicks! The whole fambam will love it. You can play Ten Pin Bowling whilst watching the footy on big screens; experience an XD Dark Ride (better for older kids and non squeamish parentals); and have loads of fun playing some of the coolest arcade games ever. You can order food to be delivered to Kicks as well, if you don't fancy a sit down dinner with your offspring. Lastly Kicks offers some really well priced birthday packages - my dudes are already in planning mode for their next party. Have a squizz at their website for all the details.
The brand new Bank West Stadium is located next door to Parramatta Leagues Club. So when we head down there to watch a footy match this season, we'll definitely be popping up to Pablo's Cantina for dinner beforehand - such a better option than the over priced and undercooked hot chips and sausage rolls that footy stadium catering is notorius for.
