This is our "regular".
It's one of those cafes where you walk in and grab a table and your coffees instantly appear without ordering. It's one of those cafes where, when seeing one of our little men having a major meltdown they run over with a marshmallow to make them happy again. It's one of those cafes where they know us all by name. It's one of those cafes where you can queue jump just cause you're a regular! And I love it!
Little Rock is located on the outside of the Stockland Mall at Baulkham Hills. Stockland Mall has loads of parking, the 3 major supermarkets, 2 wine shops, an excellent and very expensive artisan butcher and also a Harris Farm Market - so Little Rock is the perfect spot to recharge your batteries before or after tackling the weekly grocery shop with your kids!
Little Rock is also located right next door to the mall's playground which has just had a major revamp and it really is quite lovely. It's called My Funland and it has been built in conjunction with the Touched by Olivia Foundation. The area is fully secure and has a fairyland theme. There are little places to sit, things to climb over, a fort with a slide, a chalk board, a musical instrument as well as lots of touchy feely things.
Quite a few of the outdoor tables have a good view over the playground so if you want to meet up with a group of friends I suggest that you ring ahead and make a booking, as this cafe can get quite busy. You can bring along your pram, but if every table is full of parents with prams, it may get a bit squishy. There is also a big stack of high chairs available. If your kids don't want to play they have a shelf full of children's books as well as gossip magazines for Mummas.
They have an excellent kids menu called the 'Little Rockers' that covers breakfast and lunch. The boys favourites are the kids pancake as well as vegemite toast. Like other smart cafe operators kid's milkshakes come in takeaway coffee cups as do juices. Their babycinos are a good choice at $1.20 and they come with a marshmallow. If you order a kids size hot chocolate just ask one of the friendly waitresses for it to be served in a take away cup to avoid any spillages.
As for the adult's menu, Mr Munch thinks they serve the best value bacon & egg roll in town at $7.50. The rest of the menu is also reasonably priced and you order everything from a simple sandwich to a full on main meal. Their Vittoria coffee is excellent and make sure you have a perv at the awesome mural on the interior wall of the cafe of Mr Pacino sipping his espresso.
The closest loo is in the mall, so you actually have to leave the cafe. However there is an excellent little parents room where you and your progeny can wee and you can change nappies and breast feed in private. On that note the cafe is frequented by loads of mums and kids so you always feel comfortable breastfeeding the bub here and the lovely staff are more then happy to warm a bottle for you.
